The one with the birthdays

I can’t believe it’s already the middle of April! Time flies so fast when you’re having fun! April is a month full of my friends’ birthdays so there will be many reasons to celebrate and have fun. This past weekend has been the biggest of them all with the birthdays of two of my best ones from Uni. It’s been a great weekend, filled with fun, adventure, yummy food, drinks and lots of laughter and giggles!

We all went paintballing – it’s safe to say I was thrilled and excited as well as extremely scared and anxious when they first told me about this, having heard a lot of stories about bruised bodies and such. But then I thought to myself that I have to snap out of it and give it my best and it really was great fun! I have to say I went straight into combat mode after the first couple of games and I have enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Luckily, the weather was on our side and it was a nice and sunny afternoon. We went to this place called Battlelands Paintball Herefordshire, which was a very nice little farm with such lovely hosts that have made the experience even better. I would totally recommend the place if you are from around Herefordshire. I did get a couple of bruises though, but nothing major.

We headed out for dinner afterwards and we had a reservation at Zizzi’s which I adore! We had some yummy scrummy food and the evening went by so quickly with all the good conversation and wine. The next day we had a little stroll around Hereford city centre and a chilled out home-made Sunday roast which was delish. Just what we needed to cure some sore and tired bodies!

Oh, and I didn’t tell you about the gifts! As probably many others I do love Paperchase – they have a lot of quirky little bits and bobs that make for perfect gifts. So I bought a Robot nutcracker which was so hilarious and a set of mini photo frames which were so nice and pretty, the perfect gift for a girly girl along with some quirky little cards in which I wrote a Happy Birthday message – I like to write my own thing because I think it’s more personal and heartfelt.

I hope that you have enjoyed your weekends you little chums and that the spring has sprung wherever you are!
